The City today (LC) and SUPSI (Higher Vocational School in Canton Ticino) have set up a collaborative project focused on the recovery in the restoration and enhancement of stone artefacts across borders.
The project, funded by INTERREG Italy-Switzerland, aims to increase knowledge, protection, conservation and the promotion of cultural cross-border seen as building material and decoration of sandstone.
In the Italian territory is involved with the recovery and restoration with plant consolidations and structural adjustment of an asset of great value to the Villa Sironi today, with a view to direct it after the restoration uses cultural, civic and education.
In Switzerland and borders the project is to build a cultural and tourist route (through, studies, surveys and analysis) that touches the main architectural stone artifacts and promoting the knowledge, study and dissemination in the area. The project is the direct involvement of scholars, experts and young students who will be involved in teaching and research laboratories across borders with considerable impact on both educational and employment areas.
The project has a duration of three years from February 2009 to December 2011.
